Since 2006, Lego has been reimagining blockbuster movies into excellent couch co-op video games. A decade since ‘Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy‘ was released for PC and consoles, Microsoft has let slip details of the upcoming Xbox title based on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie.
As with previous Lego games, the forthcoming release will feature an art style based on the company’s plastic building blocks and characters. The leaked trailer viewable above is a cinematic take on what the game will look like.
A new era of tech events has begun
We’re back in New York this November for the 4th edition of our growth-focused technology event.
The game’s Xbox Store page also mentions “exclusive playable content that bridges the story gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
‘Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is slated to arrive on Xbox One on June 28. Given that previous Lego titles have been released on multiple platforms, it’s likely that this one will also come to desktops and consoles.
We’ve contacted Lego to learn more and will update this post when we hear back.
UPDATE: The real-deal trailer, with confirmed dates and plenty of GIFS, can be found here.
