Months after launching official Twitter and Facebook presences, and one day before the President’s final State of Union Address, the White House has set up an official Snapchat account.
Under the username “WhiteHouse,” you can add the Presidential residence to see its official story, which kicks off tomorrow with a behind the scenes look at the White House’s State of the Union preparations, with footage and angles you won’t see elsewhere.

In a statement announcing the new channel, the White House said that with 60 percent of American smartphone users between the ages of 13 and 34 using the platform, it hoped to be able engage that section of the population “in new and creative ways.”
The first post from the official account may be a hint at the kind of access we can expect, it’s a snap of the oval office, although no Obama just yet.
It’s unclear whether President Obama will get to control the account himself just yet.
